Who we are:
We are registered nurses trained in pregnancy, birth and newborn care who are also certified childbirth educators. We understand the psychological and spiritual nature of birth while also recognizing the medical and physiological aspects. We are passionate about maternity and newborn care and look forward to making a difference through hands on nursing care and education.
What we believe:
We believe in the innate power of a woman’s body and spirit to carry, birth and nurture her children.
We believe in the integral role a woman’s partner plays in supporting her and advocating for her and her children.
We believe that empowering parents with the knowledge, skills and resources they need to make informed decisions will lead to greater satisfaction with their birth and new parenting experiences.
We believe that birth can be a positive and enriching experience whether it occurs vaginally or by caesarean section, in a home or in a hospital.
We believe that knowledge is best achieved when learners actively participate in identifying their own learning needs and are engaged throughout the learning process.
What we hope to do:
Empower women and their partners through knowledge and awareness that they may draw on their own instinctive ability to birth and parent, as well as make informed decisions about their own pregnancy, birth, and family.
